Staring at the numbers that the WISH Pool has accumulated brings forth a variety of emotion. There is no doubt in my mind that I could not have attained this amount of delegation at such a short amount of time without the help of the F2LB Alliance. This is a group of small Cardano Single Pool Operators (SPO) like me who are aiming to get their “first two lifetime blocks”— hence the name. This group was formed when I was still playing with test servers back in February. A group of us met at one post in the Cardano forum when the original poster (Stefano of STPZ1) suggested to pool our spare ADA together and start delegating to each other in a queue. There was only a handful of us when it started so there were some doubts whether it would work.
Fast forward to April and the amount of ADA delegation that the group has accumulated along with some donors who follow the queue has reached 700K. On Epoch 258, it was my turn to be at the front of the queue. I watched in awe as I saw the delegations to WISH Pool go up continuously. Frantically, I also tried to come up with materials that can bring exposure to WISH Pool during this period. It was my time to shine and hopefully convince some delegators to stay when the queue moves on. My fellow SPO’s at F2LB did not disappoint and they really gave full support to my marketing efforts. They did not just like and shared my materials, they made materials referencing to me and F2LB.
Reaching 700K has given me a fighting chance to earn that first block so that my statistics would look better for would be delegators. Still, the reality is, it is a game of luck and as history shows, 700K may not be enough. I am 5th in the queue at F2LB and despite good delegation numbers previously, all of those before me were not able to mint a block. For this, we need more people to follow the F2LB queue. If we are able to attract large delegators at the 1M level (whales), it would give us a better chance of block minting success. We cannot rely on bootstrapping ourselves as our resources are limited. We need help from delegators that are not part of F2LB. In short, we need YOUR help in order to make this work.
Assuming we were able to convince whales to follow the F2LB queue, all of our members will be assured of at least 1 block when their turn comes. Will this be enough to keep the SPO in operation? Unfortunately, not really. Once the F2LB pooled delegation moves to the next SPO in the queue, the previous recipient’s stake goes back down. Ideally, during this period he would have attracted new delegators that will stay until he is big enough to stand on his own.
This is easier said than done. Still, I am hopeful that there are more kindhearted whales out there who can help the F2LB members for the long run. We already got one 369k whale following us. We just need 60 more. If you are a whale, please considering parking your ADA at each of our members’ pools. It would mean a lot to us.
